The Art of Ignorance

In my work I am interested in exploring the simple yet massive nature of ignorance. Where it lives in me and around me.

Trained as a silversmith I now work solely with contemporary jewelry art and have replaced the heavy metal to softer materials. I use mainly porcelain, sugar, linen and precious metal thread since I find these simpler.

I'm inspired by Georgian mourning jewelry and art from the Song Dynasty, especially the Qingbai porcelain work.

Using repetative patterns as a means the subjects of my pieces are the two pig brothers John and Jonathan, and the beautiful cows with calves who every summer roam in the valleys around our house.

My aim is to work gently and slowly.

Here I sometimes post pictures of the process.
